Vessel Chartering
Vessel chartering involves matching shippers, who need to move cargo, and ship owner/operators, who need to fill capacity. Companies can opt for a voyage charter, covering port, fuel, and crew costs to purchase a shipās full capacity, or pay costs on a per-ton basis. Alternatively, charterers can elect to hire vessels for a specific length of time, which is called a time charter.

RORO Service
Heavy, bulky wheeled vehicles that can be driven on and off a shipās deck is called roll-on/roll-off cargo. Itās better known by its industry nickname, RoRo, or by another term: Lift-On, Lift-Off.
Companies engage shippers to provide RoRo services to move multiple vehicles or fleets around the world. Individuals typically pay for RoRo to transport their personal cars to new overseas destinations. Equipment is loaded and unloaded via ramps that are most often located on the stern side of the vessel.
